I don't send you a proposal with a list of deliverables and then disappear for a month. I join your operation. I sit in on the meetings that matter. I learn how your business actually runs, not how you describe it on your website, but what happens on a Tuesday afternoon when three things break at once.
Most agencies hand you a playbook they've used on fifty other clients. I don't have a playbook. I have a process: learn your business, find what's broken or missing, and build the thing that fixes it. Sometimes that's a website. Sometimes it's an automation that saves your team ten hours a week. Sometimes it's a competitive intelligence system you didn't know was possible.
The point is, I can't tell you what I'm going to build until I understand what you need. That requires being close enough to your operation to actually see it.
The First Month
Week one is listening. Week two is suggestions. You pick where we start.
The first week is listening. I sit in on calls, watch how your team works, and ask questions you're not expecting. I'm going to ask you which fictional villain you're most like. You're going to resist it. But once you start explaining why you picked who you picked, where you agree with them, what you would have done differently, you end up talking about the real challenges in your business. That's a lot easier than jumping straight into what keeps you up at night. Get them monologuing, as they say.
By the end of week one you get a report on what I've found so far. Not a deck full of frameworks. A document that tells you what I'm seeing, what looks broken, and what I want to look at next.
By the end of week two the report gets a second section: suggestions. Weekly competitive audits, apps or automations worth building, lead funnel repairs, team training. You pick what matters most. We start there.
After Month One
You're not buying deliverables. You're buying attention that compounds.
After the first month, we settle into a rhythm. I'm still in your business. I'm still paying attention.
That looks different for every client. For some it's a weekly check-in and a running list of things I'm building or improving. For others it's a standing slot on their calendar where we look at what the data says and decide what to do next. There are always reports, and they exist to inform decisions, not to justify a retainer.
Since I can't make my brain stop thinking, I may as well let it think of ways to make us both money.
As projects wrap, new ones show up on the list. You pick. We keep going.
The honest version: you're not buying a fixed set of deliverables every month. You're buying my attention, my ability to build things, and the fact that I already understand how your business works. That compounds over time in ways that starting fresh with a new vendor every year never will.
The AI Team
How one person does all of this.
People ask how one person does all of this. The honest answer has three parts: I bring in human specialists when a situation calls for it, like a publicist friend who's gotten one client onto television. I stay up too late and wake up too early. And I build AI agents.
Not off-the-shelf tools. Specific agents built for specific problems. Some have been with me since I started and keep evolving as I learn more about each client. Others get invented for a single situation and stick around because they turned out to be useful. Some do research. Some help plan. A few build apps and automations. And a growing number of them grade, audit, and manage the others.
Imagine a really smart 7-year-old who speaks ten languages and can beat you at chess. Incredibly capable. But they haven't been around long enough to know everything, and when they don't know something they get embarrassed and start making things up. Sometimes that's funny. Most of the time you have to sit them down and say, look, it's okay not to know something. Not knowing stuff is just a chance to learn something new.
That's why everything gets checked. AI is built by humans, so you have to watch it. Because, you know. Humans.
As for what you need to know about the AI side of things: as much or as little as you want. One client used to get annoyed any time I mentioned it. Wanted it to be don't-ask-don't-tell. That same client now uses Google Gemini to ask whether his therapist is saying the right thing. People come around at their own pace.
The one thing that actually matters is how much you're willing to share. The agents learn through trial and error. The more you tell me about what you want and how you want it, the faster everything gets dialed in.

The stuff your team does manually that a system could do better. Data entry, follow-ups, reporting, handoffs between tools that don't talk to each other.

Monthly reports on what your competitors are doing. Their SEO gaps, their content moves, their backlink activity. You see it before they publish it.
Local Search & AI Visibility
Google Maps, Google Business Profile, and the part most people haven't figured out yet: making sure AI engines like ChatGPT and Gemini actually know you exist and say the right things about you.

This isn't for everyone. That's the point.
Good Fit
Run a business where the problems don't have off-the-shelf answers. You've tried the agencies, the freelancers, the software subscriptions. Some of it worked. Most of it didn't stick. You want one person who understands the whole picture and can build what's actually needed.
You're willing to let someone inside your operation. Not just hand over a brief and wait. Actually collaborate. Share the ugly spreadsheets. Explain the workaround you've been doing for three years because nobody ever fixed the real problem.
You care about owning what gets built. The code, the data, the systems. When we're done, it's yours. That matters to you.
Not a Fit
Want the cheapest option. I'm not the cheapest option. I'm one person with an AI-powered team, and that model is more affordable than a traditional agency, but it's not a race to the bottom.
Want a fixed deliverables list before the first conversation. I can't tell you what I'm building until I understand what you need. If that makes you uncomfortable, a traditional agency with a menu might be better.
Need someone to just execute a plan you've already written. I'm not a pair of hands. I'm a brain you're adding to your operation. If you already know exactly what to do, you might just need a freelancer.
Need to approve every decision before it happens. This works because I have room to think, explore, and build things you didn't know to ask for. If that sounds like losing control instead of gaining capacity, we'll both be frustrated.
Have a boring product. I do my best work when I find the business genuinely interesting. Life's too short to pretend otherwise.
